The days are longer, and the evenings although not balmy, are pleasant enough for the cats to spend in the garden.  They spend their time, sitting in the plant pots and pruning my plants.

The warmer weather naturally turns peoples thoughts towards holidays, and my diary is filling up nicely.  From now until August, I have plenty of dogs and cats to care for, including a retriever who is staying with me, much to the disgust of my own cats.  Luckily Abbey is scared of "the mob" so does what she can to avoid them, which maintains an uneasy peace.  One of the little blighters puffs herself up to the size of a small elephant and hisses and spits at the poor mutt.

Abbey and I went to the park this morning.  It is about three weeks since I was last there and the change has been enormous.  The bluebells are in full flower, carpeting vast swathes of banks with their cheery blue; the trees are now in leaf creating a cathedral like atmosphere; and on the largest of the ponds a family of gorgeous ducklings huddled together under the watchful eye of Mum.

It was a perfect spring morning, complete with blue skies and sunshine.  Ideal for dog walking.  Tonight we will head to the beach, which is a could of minutes walk away, so that I can try to tire Abbey out for the evening and hopefully get a bit of peace.
